“FIRST ELECTRONIC DEVICE"

The first electronic device invented is the RELAY.

It’s a remote switch controlled by electricity invented in 1835

Two major parts ,

• Normally closed(NC)
  Normally opened (NO)

These are switches that open and close circuits electromechanically or electronically. Relays control one electrical circuit by opening and closing contacts in another circuit.

Normally open (NO) contacts connect the circuit when the relay is activated; the circuit is disconnected when the relay is inactive. Normally closed (NC) contacts disconnect the circuit when the relay is activated; the circuit is connected when the relay is inactive.

The three main types of relays are

1.Electromechanical,

2.Solid-state,

3.Reed.

Applications of relay:

Relays are used in many areas in real world applications.

One example might be a cooling system. An electronically operated cooling system will need to be capable of switching a fan off or on depending on the temperature in the room.
