Our traditional culture are most interesting to view and discuss.Let me point out some traditional habits followed and science behind them.
At the very first moment if anyone sees you, they Will greet us by joining palms and say "VANAKAM".By joining the tips of all the fingers together;denotes the pressure points of eyes, ears, and mind which helps us to remember that person for long a time. And there is no germs, since we don’t make any physical contact.
“KOLAMs" Infront of every home which are closed, continuous figures to represent the never- ending cycle of birth and death & also to ensure cleanliness & prevent germs.
On the forehead, between two eyebrows is a spot of a major nerve point in human body.The red "Kumkum" between them is believed to retain energy in human body & supply blood to face muscles.
As many know,"TOE RINGS" are the significance of married women.The science behind this is certain nerve from second toe connects uterus and passes to the heart.So,it strengthens the uterus and keeps healthy by regulating the blood.Silver is a good conductor, it also absorbs polar energies from the earth and passes it to the body.
Our Tradition is to sit on the floor and eat.When you sit on the floor, you usually sit cross legged – In sukhasana or half padmasana, which are poses that instantly brings a sense of calm and helps in digestion, it is believed that it automatically trigger the signals to your brain to prepare the stomach for digestion.We start our meal with spicy & end with sweets. Spicy foods activates the digestive juices and sweets pulls down the digestive process.
There are lot to share.As a youngsters,we need to know about our traditional culture.
